Celebrating 75 Years of Legacy
Jim Thompson: Beyond Silk, Beyond Thailand Premieres in Paris
Jim Thompson marks its 75th anniversary with the launch of its first-ever coffee table book, Jim Thompson: Beyond Silk, Beyond Thailand, published in collaboration with global luxury publisher Assouline. The international debut took place at Assouline’s Paris boutique in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, reflecting a significant milestone for the brand on the global stage.

The 286-page volume features photography by Chris Schalkx and text by Stephen Wallis, combining newly commissioned images with archival materials. It chronicles the story of the man known as the “Thai Silk King” and the brand he built, highlighting Jim Thompson’s pivotal role in reviving Thailand’s silk industry and its evolution into a globally recognized Asian lifestyle brand.
The book traces the brand’s journey from its origins to its expansion across fashion, home furnishings, hospitality, and creative collaborations over the decades—embodying the spirit of going “Beyond Silk” while honoring Thai craftsmanship and contemporary textile innovation.

Available in two editions, the Classic Edition features a hardcover adorned with archival MING MING and BARDO prints on the front and an image of the Jim Thompson Home Furnishings Bangkok Showroom on the back. The Silk Slipcase Edition presents the same volume encased in a handcrafted 100% Thai silk slipcase in the brand’s signature cinnabar red. Both editions are available in four languages: English, French, Japanese, and Chinese.
