To mark its 75th anniversary, Jim Thompson presents “Jim Thompson: Beyond Silk, Beyond Thailand”, the brand’s first coffee table book celebrating a legacy of craftsmanship, design, and cultural influence. Created in partnership with luxury publisher Assouline, the book reflects Jim Thompson’s journey from reviving Thai silk to becoming Asia’s iconic global lifestyle brand.
Featuring photography by Chris Schalkx alongside archival and brand imagery, with text by journalist Stephen Wallis, the book brings the story to life while exploring the artistry of Thai silk and the enduring legacy of James H. W. Thompson.
Beginning with Jim Thompson’s origins in the 1950s, the book traces the transformation of Thai silk from local craft to global industry, charting the brand’s evolution beyond silk across fashion, interiors, hospitality, and creative collaborations. From cinematic moments such as The White Lotus to world-class interiors, it captures a legacy of craftsmanship, innovation, and cultural influence.
