Key Responsibilities

Procurement strategy and policy

  • Develops purchasing strategy into the procurement plan and strategic sourcing.
  • Develops and updates procurement policy/ procedure and related documents.
  • Collaborates with relevant parties for the procurement inventory planning and management, product replenishment and upstream product logistics.
  • Analyses and summaries in evaluating the overall impact of opportunity buys, including forward purchases, and evaluates return-on-capital with S&OP to manage risk on the regular, promoted, and seasonal stock.

 Procurement Planning

  • Supervises and supports in collaboration closely with the demand planning for forecast collaboration processes internally and externally (suppliers and customers).
  • Oversees and supervises procurement plans with key vendors in the portfolio based on pre-established forecasts by the demand planning, operation planning, and other purchase planning.
  • Supervises and supports in collaboration with the relevant teams on planned commitments and collaboration on past and forthcoming inventory quantities.
  • Supervises and supports working in partnership with warehouse team for inventory procurement impacts on the physical network.

 Strategic Sourcing

  • Oversees and supervise in developing a company-wide sourcing strategy that aligns with the pre-set procurement planning and goods/services matches specification and communicate strategy to BUs.
  • Develops strategic vision for the strategic sourcing function.
  • Oversees and supervises in gathering vendor requirement and match needs to supply (potential vendor) with the purchasing requirement.
  • Supervises and collaborates closely with business user to seek and select specific vendor that match to the specific purchase requirement.

 Process Improvement

  • Works with S&OP to Identifies and develops procurement process improvement opportunities (which comes from procurement performance evaluation and operational challenges) to sources internal and works with teams to constantly improve and assess their performance in order to increase productivity and efficiency.

 Vendor and relationship management

  • Review and approves creation and maintenance of vendor and contract information according to vendor management policy and procedure in procurement system.
  • Works with S&OP on vendor/supplier database maintenance.

People Leadership

  • Manages, coaches, develops, and promotes teams to help raise level of competence and business acumen. Maintains relevant business knowledge of product categories and stays abreast of market and industry trends and conditions. 
  • Assures skill develop within team in general procurement practices, company global standards, and procurement system as it relates to planning and procurement activities.
  • Sets and carries out objectives, and fosters a culture of performance, continuous improvement and collaboration with management, peers, and subordinates.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in procurement including strategic procurement, procurement planning, strategic souring, vendor management, inventory management, and replenishment.
  • Manufacturing industry, retail and trading industry experience an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Supply Management, or equivalent/ related.
  • Company policy, procurement policy/ procedure and related regulatory.
  • Procurement planning and strategic sourcing.
  • Process improvement, project and change management.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in standard office tools (Power Point, Excel, Word, and Visio). Experience in procurement system and related system is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and experience of negotiating with and managing supplier relationships.
