Job Purpose: 

The Fashion Collection Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of fashion collections by managing and coordinating activities across various stakeholders, including merchandise, design, development, procurement, and production. This role focuses on maintaining adherence to the collection calendar, overseeing timelines, and fostering collaboration to achieve seamless and efficient collection launches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed collection calendar outlining key milestones from merchandise assortment planning through design and development, production and product launch.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including merchandise planners, designers, developers, procurement specialists, and production teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to keep all teams on track.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to timelines for each phase of the collection development process.
  • Proactively identify and address potential delays, bottlenecks, or issues that may impact the overall schedule.
  • Foster collaboration and information-sharing between different departments involved in the collection process.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review progress, address challenges, and ensure a unified approach.
  • Identify and assess potential risks to the collection calendar.
  • Develop contingency plans and solutions to mitigate risks and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Generate regular reports on project status, highlighting achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  • Conduct post-collection analysis to identify areas for improvement in future projects.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of current business processes related to the design, development, and production of fashion goods.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather input and insights.
  • Identify areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications: 

  •     Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
  •           Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience in fashion, familiarity with fashion trends, production processes, product lifecycle management software platforms and supply chain management.
  •       Proven experience in project management within the fashion industry.
  •       Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  •       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  •     Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  •     Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  •     MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project.
