The inspiration for this print comes from the cosmos flower field at the Jim Thompson farm. In ancient times, it was believed that cosmos flowers were auspicious flowers, bringing good luck to everyone born on Sundays. Some say, that the cosmos flower represents peace, determination, and purity in young women.
In Japanese culture, cosmos or starburst flowers have been around since the Edo period. Cosmos flowers are shaped similarly to Sakura flowers.
